Junior/Mid-Level System Administrator

Summary:
Empowering Media is looking for a junior to mid level system administrator to help manage, configure, tune and secure our Linux servers. In some instances you will be required to communicate with our customers to discuss options and solutions.
This position does not require you are located in the New York Tri-State area but is a plus if you do.
Requirements:
- Has strong inter-personal and communication skills; is capable of explaining simple procedures in writing or verbally, has good phone skills.
- Positive and courteous customer service attitude
- 2-4 years working Unix commands/utilities
- Light to middle level Perl experience
- Familiar with Open Source applications
- Linux Operating System (Red Hat a plus)
- Intimate understanding of WWW, HTML, HTTP, CGI, TCP/IP, DNS, POP, and related topics
- Ability to create RPMs a plus
- Experience with DirectAdmin a plus
Salary:
Rate is dependent upon experience and can become a full time position.
