Empowering Media upgrades data center capacity and functionality

November 3, 2003

To meet the growing needs of its customers, Empowering Media has expanded its second data center operations and now has more than three times the previous physical capacity. This upgrade not only facilitates future growth in both managed and virtual server deployments, but also allows the addition of several new services. These include a new network/disk based backup system with redundant systems that will phase out tape storage and KVM-over-IP accessibility for all servers.

"This upgrade not only will allow further growth in our computing installations, but, more importantly, will provide greater reliability and faster response time to potential problems than ever before," noted Empowering Media's CTO Tom Shohfi. "All of our current and future customers can rest assured that their data is well protected and properly archived with this new backup system. In addition, headless operation with KVM-over-IP will allow us to react even more quickly and effectively to keep our technology base running without interruption." Customers of Empowering Media can view the latest information regarding server and data center status at the Customer Service site.
